Overhand Throw and Catching

The last week or so we have been working on our overhand throw technique and this week we will be working on catching. The main points for the Overhand Throw are:

* turn opposite (non throwing) shoulder towards target
* make a "T" with your arms
* step with your foot closest to the target
* twist your tummy and throw
* tap your opposite knee on the follow through

The video I found on YouTube explains it pretty well.

For catching, if the ball is below the waist it is pinkie fingertips touching, fingers spread, eyes on the ball. When the ball is above the waist, it is thumb tips touching, fingers spread, eyes on the ball. They should always try to catch the ball with their hands, not their body.

Also this week we are doing our Walk-A-Thon. We are walking from the school to the Rail Trail in our 45 minute time. We are walking about a mile total.
